Cisneros Media: VePlus remains relevant

Cisneros Media sees FAST and AVOD models as excellent opportunities to bring their content and channels to a new and constantly evolving audience whose consumption habits have changed. «Everything indicates that these new business models will continue to gain popularity. The challenge lies in efficiently and sustainably monetizing all the efforts these models entail,» says Carlos Cabrera, VP of Sales – Pay TV, Cisneros Media.

Cabrera highlights that the most relevant channel in terms of reach continues to be VePlus. «On it, we place the most relevant content as well as new productions, and we program with the pay-TV audience in mind. However, in the U.S., we manage a multi-screen strategy that includes FAST channels like Novelisima, Venevision International, MasTalk, and MasShow,» he explains.

Both Novelisima and MasShow are also available via Over-The-Air (OTA).

Additionally, Cisneros Media has been constantly working to adapt its library to the requirements of AVOD platforms, which continue to grow.

«Fortunately, we have top-tier affiliates with whom we work closely to promote our signals and support our partners in acquiring new subscribers. Our programming strategy and creative capacity allow us to develop new formats and content to keep VePlus fresh,» he points out.

In terms of content, Cisneros Media’s telenovelas have always been well-received, Cabrera notes, adding that talk shows have become a fundamental pillar of VePlus’s offering, «with a loyal audience that appreciates their entertainment value and affinity with the public.»

Cabrera mentions the most recent original production, a talk show with Daniel Sarcos titled Sarcástico. «This show, which debuted this August, has been well received by advertisers. We hope it will have the same success among Spanish-speaking audiences, available through VePlus,» he mentioned.

Like all players in the pay TV space, Cisneros Media has observed changes in consumer behavior. «This change motivates us to explore various platforms like FAST, AVOD, and OTA. This makes it even more crucial to implement an effective content development and programming strategy,» Cabrera emphasizes.
